ALL Hackney Council UNISON members have 1.5 hours paid time off to attend this meeting IN ADDITION to their lunch hour. Members in schools or private companies wishing to join us may need to seek permission from their manager.

Don’t get angry – get active! Now is the time to have your say and steer YOUR union in the direction that works best for our members.

Branch Officers election

A union is only as good as its members, and we strongly encourage all members to take an active role in the branch, becoming officers, stewards or workplace representatives. We had a number of important roles left vacant during 2021 (e.g. Communications Officer), so it’s vital that volunteers do come forward to ensure the union works best for all our members.

Please complete the nomination form at https://forms.gle/mfDe2WMzUC3SPHvj8 to indicate which role(s) you would like to be considered for. You can also request a paper nomination form by calling us on 0208 356 4071 or emailing hackney.unison@hackney.gov.uk. More information on the branch roles can be found at unison.org.uk/about/our-organisation/activists/branch-roles

Deadline for Nominations of Branch Officers: Friday 11th March

Motions and Questions

Do you want the AGM to consider a motion? It could be asking support for a cause, group or charity; calling for the branch committee or officers to take some sort of action; or change how our branch operates.

Please submit a Motion or question at https://forms.gle/3ZP6eCHnH2cXM93t6

You can also submit any burning questions you want answered at the AGM in advance on the same form, and we will try our very best to answer them all at both AGM sessions.

A paper copy of this form can be provided by contacting the branch.

Deadline for Motions: Friday 11th March

We hope to see you – physically or virtually – very soon!

Regards and solidarity,

Karen Lynn and Matt Paul
